GemCap Investment Funds (Ireland) Plc Board Appoints New Chairperson

We are pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chairperson to the GemCap Investment Funds (Ireland) Plc Board. Our new appointment Karen Nolan was previously a Non-Executive Director and has been on the Board for two years.

GemCap UK Chief Executive Stuart Alexander has stepped down as Chair and remains a Non-Executive Director. This move comes as part of our continued commitment to all principles of ESG: the independence of the Board is crucial and an Independent Chair is an essential part of clear and transparent governance. As an organisation we are committed to ensuring strong governance oversight, placing our investors’ interests at the forefront of the Board.

We are also pleased to further embrace our commitment to diversity across all areas with this appointment; our board is now 40% female, comprised of two female Board members and three male.

We are constantly working to improve the way we do things here at GemCap, to provide the best possible service and operate with honesty and accountability to best serve our investors and clients. We welcome Karen as Chairperson to the Board and look forward to an optimistic year in 2021.
